Arsenal Fans Postpone Blantyre Victory Parade After Applying To Wrong Council

Arsenal supporters in Blantyre have postponed their planned Premier League victory parade after organisers mistakenly submitted their application for approval to the wrong local authority.

According to the organisers, the application was initially sent to the Blantyre City Council instead of the Blantyre District Council, which is the legally mandated authority responsible for approving public parades.

The mistake forced the organisers to submit a fresh application to the correct authority, resulting in the postponement of the event.

The parade, which was originally scheduled for 30 May, has now been moved to 6 June pending approval from the Blantyre District Council.

The development comes days after Arsenal supporters in Lilongwe also failed to hold a planned victory parade after police indicated they would be unable to provide security due to other commitments.

Despite the setback, Blantyre organisers say preparations for the event are continuing and remain hopeful that supporters will still turn out in large numbers when the parade finally takes place.
